Rev. Tuan Nguyen (2009–2011)

On July 1, 2009 Rev. Tuan Nguyen was appointed the Eleventh Pastor of Holy Rosary Parish and Pastor of Saint Joseph Parish.

The two parishes were added to the Tacoma Regional Parish Cluster, where Father Tuan Nguyen has been pastor since 2006. This arrangement would continue for only two years.

A team of four Parochial Vicars was assigned to assist Father Tuan.

Many of Holy Rosary’s programs are joined with those of the other Cluster parishes. Except for RCIA, all religious education is moved off-site to other parishes. This begins a sharp decline in the number of Holy Rosary’s parishioners participating in religious education.

Later that year, Father Tuan offers the Vietnamese Sisters of the Lovers of the Holy Cross of Go-Vap the use of the old Rectory at Holy Rosary. They move in, while the old Benedictine Convent remains in use as office and classroom space. Holy Rosary once more has resident sisters.
