Meeting Minutes: June 27, 2019

One board member unable to attend, ten other members in attendance.

The meeting was called to order at 6:30 pm.

• Minutes Amendments: 
  • Add discussion regarding 3-D Church tour,
  • Refine to use the word Campus after the $20M figure in the minutes.
  • List from a member regarding fund raising ideas
• Motion to approve as amended: approved unanimously

• Progress on Action Items
  • Donation report: $200 more this month, donations to the HR needs to be done in a specific way and DC will discuss/approach the office, Donations vs Pledges — easy to switch once we have the mechanism to collect and bill.
    • How are we accepting checks? By mail to 2602 S 38^th St #A-126, Tacoma WA 98409
    • Discussion regarding the mechanism for refunding, if necessary.
    • Pledges need to be signed and have some digital signature, (authentication) if done online.
  • Handout: DRAFT in the hands of those here to review
    • Many thanks to the designer for her hard work
    • Asked a few non-Catholics what they think
    • Add logo and mission statement in a position on the front
    • Double check numbers.
    • Remove “not the building itself” from the FAQ
    • We need an address on the collateral. Can use: 2602 S 38^th St #A-126, Tacoma WA 98409
    • There needs to be a place for the donor’s signature on the pledge cards

    • Send redo with new steeple from silhouette
    • Fix as per notes from everyone
      • Sans serif SAVE / Superclarendon was the favorite font

  • This software is free
  • Uses tech by GoogleEarth
  • Site host 360 Degrees Make VT
  • We will try to get into the church as soon as possible to sort
  • The tour is hosted elsewhere so we just have a piece of code that links to anyplace we want to put it like social media, websites, etc without having to put it anywhere.
  • Can we link to / create priest information – Yes, link to Holy Rosary website where it has that.
  • We will proceed to add this to the website.
• FUND RAISING
  • Discussion about BBQ by Knights (Visitation KOC) that Deacon Fish stopped.
    • Will bring this question to the meeting with Archdiocese representatives
  • Game Day – Field Day block party which was discussed last week. How can we involve as many different organizations for this.
  • Schola /a local music group wants to do a fundraiser for STLC
  • Perhaps trying local restaurant takeovers?
  • How can we get social media worked up to give us ideas for fundraising?
  • Bake sales through sodalities, etc.
  • Block party
    • Battle of the bands
    • Motorcycles
  • Create an informational packet on “how you can help raise money for STLC”
  • Auction off items/crafts
  • GoFundMe ?
  • “We’re just getting started, how much are you going to give?”
  • T-shirts, water bottles, etc. They create a website for people to do their own ordering so we don’t have to create a supply (print on demand)
  • Garage sales / block sales.
  • Create a calendar for fundraisers.
  • Sprinker Ice Rink does a Junk in the Trunk and if we get five or ten spaces and just sell stuff we can raise money.
  • Bells of St Mary’s movie sponsoring (like Blue Mouse) to show it as a fundraiser.
  • Northwest Catholic – VERY EXPENSIVE
  • Catholic Radio – Reached out and waiting to hear back from the radio host
