Hello Everyone!
And I intentionally use the word “everyone”. What I am writing about involves more than me and should be of a concern to everyone, Catholic or not.
I was born in Tacoma. Eight years of Catholic grade school, all my sacraments, honor graduate from Bellarmine. Honor grad from Gonzaga University. Lifetime Catholic, not perfect, but a Catholic.
I taught High School students out of town for 37 years but had a strong relationship with Holy Rosary as my family spent much time in Tacoma visiting relatives. Sunday masses at Holy Rosary were a highlight for my children as they were awed by the building itself.
This building must be saved. It is an iconic part of the Tacoma landscape. It is a monument to 100+ years of faithful devotion. And it can continue to do the same in the near future and beyond. It is a grand building and is an inspiration to 10,000 cars per day who get a glimpse of it from Tacoma streets or I-5.
Save Tacoma’s Landmark Church. We can do it.
Let us try. This is an awesome building and must be preserved. It is an outward sign of God’s love for all.
